The Age of Strife

• The new King of the Elves had sent messengers across the land saying that the Humans and Dwarves took up arms against the Elves and only a few Elves survived the onslaught in the Castle
• Storaskogen is inaccessible to all, even other elves, trade is done at the docks of Icefair, but no other travelers make it into the forest
• Elven enclaves are fortresses that no one other than elves can enter
• Rumors of Elven raiding parties on the edges of the northern forests, with no survivors ever left alive
• Elf, Dwarf, Human – suspicion about what happened at the Great Tragedy abound
• The Human Mercenary Companies are at constant war, tenuous hold on Covenants of Kymmenen
• Dwarves do trade in heavily armed caravans with other Dwarven holds and all trade with non-Dwarves is done through the Gnomes of Gnomia
• With the goodly races at odds, there is no one to hold back the Evil Races, and the edges of civilization are shrinking
• Raids against the outposts and forts of the Ten Kingdoms go unchecked, no one Kingdom trusts another to leave their lands undefended
• Small villages and holds disappear often with no trace
• Humans from the various Kingdoms are at best tolerated within each other’s kingdoms
• A martial society has developed and to carry a sword, axe, mace or dagger is common
• Organized crime within the Human cities is at an all-time high
• The Order continues to exert its influence and has gained significant ground in Sagorike
• Followers of the Evil Gods have started to spring up across various Human Kingdoms
• Rumors of Humans allying with the Evil Races are whispered in the shadows
